Re: Like a new feature? Say thanks here

Another BIG thank you here as well Don - having bought the lifetime license and not being able to make the switch from Total Commander to XyPlorer despite numerous forced attempts I am now going to make the switch and hopefully stay for good this time, many thanks for your efforts.

Great post yes. I purchased XYplorer lifetime license more out of appreciation as I knew it would be very hard for me to move away from TotalCommander. I still check these forums almost daily and grab the latest beta version and I look forward to *any* dual-pane implementation that Don puts in v8 as...

Can I 4th this feeling as well then please? :) I agree with much of what has been said by the 2nd/3rd feelers above! As Don knows, I purchased the lifetime license, forced myself to use XYplorer for a couple of weeks but found myself back with my TotalCommander, even though I got used to the single-...

While it's nice to have everything in ONE tool I actually disagree on this one. Certain individual tools are better and it would keep XYplorer from turning into DOPUS bloatware. WinRAR has done the job perfectly for me for so many years and if you want a FREE alternative then the suggested 7-zip is ...

Welcome R3d2Dawn :)

I have been following this product for a while even though I've been using Total Commander for many years.

Like you, the offer of a lifetime license for such a well updated product with some interesting features was too good to miss out on.

I'm finding the orange stripe blends in with the toolbar background too much and needs to be green or something more contrasting and obvious.

Btw, since purchasing I'm forcing myself to use it instead of Total Commander :)

There's definitely something good about XYplorer, as a Total Commander (dual-pane) user of many years I'm still coming on your forums to read about XYplorer on a regular basis, as a developer I very much appreciate how much effort you put into providing so many regular new releases which take onboar...

Quite a few of us will agree with you on dual-panes, one of the reasons why I still use TotalCommander even though I very much appreciate the hardwork and support that is put into XYplorer.

Yup j_c, your analogy is pretty much the same as my cupboard version I posted in the other dual-pane thread :) I've already said to Don that I'd certainly buy XYplorer if it had dual-pane and some of the folder synchronization features of TotalCommander - you can only have some of those cool feature...

Re: Reviewed by dual pane freak

I could accept as a substitute having two tabs visible together, even if the tree was single and reposition based on which tab was 'active'... Had posted this early in this thread...any comments on this idea? If this was do-able it would be a great compromise offering the best of both worlds maybe ...

As a fellow dual-pane-freak, I have to say his review was shockingly bad. If I was reviewing XYplorer I'd give it FULL marks because I recognise that for a single pane tool it is easily the best, most feature-rich and frequently updated/supported tool out there. I've been watching with great interes...

Okay, this topic is a mixed salad now. Anyway, concerning nagging : I decided to limit the number of simultaneous tabs (to 3 or maybe 4?). But I'm willing to hear your screams about this idea... Not sure if that's a good enough "nag" tbh, most trial users in my opinion aren't likely to us...
