Sansa Fuze

Post by barnowl »

Hi

I have just started using XYplorer, 9.2 as my main file manager.

However, my Sansa Fuze does not show up in XYplorer, as a connected item when I plug it in to the USB port.

It shows up and works using Windows Explorer in Windows 7

Can anyone advise please

Thanks

Hi and welcome!

Currently, XYplorer does not support non-drive devices, i.e devices that do not register with a drive letter. Not to worry, their support is planned and is on the roadmap here: http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=830

Hi zer0

Many thanks for the reply. Will have to wait till an update comes out.

Bad thing is, I will have to keep Windows Explorer on my computer till then.

Best regards

Just out of curiosity, can you go into Disk Management and see if memory card's volume shows up? If it does, you may be able to manually assign a drive letter to it.

Hi

Tried that. It does not show up in Disk Management, so can't give it a drive letter.

Good thought though.

Thanks

Since the other thread from 2012 went on a bit of a tangent, am quoting a reply to that similar one here for future reference to others:
Twisten wrote:Anyhow check your device settings, it should have a usb mode modifier in my player you can choose msc or mtp or auto.
MSC or Auto mode would most likely get you drive letters instead of what you have now and make them visible in XYplorer too.
This was from http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic. ... 095#p71095
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.
