Viewing devices such as MP3 players with XYPlorer

Post by lugosi »

Is it possible to view external USB devices such as my Sandisk Fuze+ in the XYPlorer drive list? The device does not appear as a drive letter in Explorer, but instead appears as a separate icon called Sansa Fuze+.

Thank you folks!
Jim

YADT...Didn't so a search first, it seems...to find things like:
http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5527
http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7073
http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5205

As the replies there say: PLEASE do a search before creating: yet another duplicate thread!

Addendum/Update - :naughty: Why is there now an IDENTICAL duplicate of this thread at http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7891? Please delate it, ok? Thx!

Update #2 - Much appreciate that you deleted it as I had asked! :appl:

Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

8) Apology accepted! It's especially in cases like this when there is a very unique search term (sansa) that it comes the most obvious...there are times when duplicates occur because newcomers may not know the terms needed to locate prior theads and that's somewhat different...in those cases, we can help with that as we have seen a nbr of posts over time...but we obviously prefer users to first attempt to locate existing threads and re-open them if needed.

Anyhow check your device settings, it should have a usb mode modifier in my player you can choose msc or mtp or auto.
MSC or Auto mode would most likely get you drive letters instead of what you have now and make them visible in XYplorer too.

I'll go with E. Decision Tree, though the first thing that came to mind was 'damn thread' :D .

Thought I'd make it more unique by suggesting a possible alternative solution, since I've seen none in those other threads.

Is YADT a regular internet slang or you just made it up? Because on googling i found things like "Yet Another Disruptive Technology", but ofcourse given the context here i knew what it meant. Just wondering if this is a common acronym.
BTW, it would have saved you all these questions if you had expanded YADT in this thread .

I wasn't aware if it existed or not (and didn't look) so I just did it on-the-fly..

So giving the meaning in the next sentence after I first used it wasn't obvious enough?
Ok...so I didn't make letters bold but presumed people would notice anyway.

Ah! i never saw the expansion until now. I never read beyond few lines and with all the emoticons there the important part in small case got hidden. My apologies, i know you did not intend it but it seems well hidden for a cursory reader.
