Strange host name in samba logs
When I access the samba shares on my ubuntu 20.04 LTS server with XYplorer, the server creates log files with names like this: log.2003_df_272d_9b00_810b_3c34_b13a_800c log.2003_df_272d_9b00_30b7_2646_c9ca_36c9 The size of these files is 0. The samba config has the default "log.%m" directi...

Re: Enable double-dots - parent folder.
I also would like to have double dots because they allow to easily move item up one level. Without double dots it is much more cumbersome to move or copy items into their parent dir. It can be done via Copy/Paste or drag on the parent folder in the folder tree but both is not as straight forward as ...

Re: Adress bar on top of pane tabs
You know that this entry does already exist, right? Er.. if I had known that I wouldn't have asked. Now that you pointed me to it I found the "relocate tab" right click entry which I had previously overlooked. Is there also a setting which allows relocating with just a longer left ...

Yes, that's what I mean.highend wrote:Mh, do you mean: Right click on a tab, context menu: Rename Tab...?make the TAB headers editable like with a file rename
Even better if it also would allow renaming from just a longer left click like I can do on regular files and directories.

Re: Adress bar on top of pane tabs
I still think it is not very ergonomic to have the address bar so far away from the panes, which are the place where most of the actions are done . I understand that the address bar serves other purposes too and the ALT-D is a good way to edit it. It would be nicer though if the edit could take plac...

Re: Silently delete to recycle bin but warn if deleting on a network drive
Thanks a lot. I thought it would be possible. Also thanks for the hints about the delete confirmations. I knew about those but I either can go to the risky side, when I disable the confirmation. Or I get many confirmation request which are safe (because they go to the recycle bin) This makes me less...

Adress bar on top of pane tabs
Instead of a single address bar on top of the folder view I wish I could have an address bar on top of the tab row of each pane. I do work in dual pane mode and if I want to change to another path I think it is much easier if I could enter it close to where I am in the pane. Right now I need to move...

Silently delete to recycle bin but warn if deleting on a network drive
Hi guys, does someone know how to script a sophisticated recycle bin behaviour for the scenario given below? In case I delete something to the recycle bin, I would be able to recover it from there. This is like in real life when I scrap a piece of paper in the dust bin. In this case I do not want a ...

Re: sophisticated move, copy, recycle bin behaviour
So would it be possible to script this "smart" behaviour with XYplorer?
I think it could be a real benefit.

Re: sophisticated move, copy, recycle bin behaviour
@Leito The difference is that a regular delete from a local drive results in the object being put to the recycle bin. For this, a delete confirmation is an annoying extra step because you can get an object back from the bin until you clear the recycle bin. It also trains the user wrongly. If you del...

Re: looking for a drive letter bar
Thanks for pointing me to that solution which I think I can adapt to.
It is an extra click but a lot better than the favorites approach.

Re: looking for a drive letter bar
That is not the solution I was looking for.
Currently I am using idoswin pro which is not as feature rich as xyplorer but is much easier to configure, has some essential features I miss in xyplorer and has a cleaner GUI as shown in the attached picture.

looking for a drive letter bar
I often find myself deep in the folder structure and then it is quite annoying to navigate to another drive letter. I added drive letters to my favorites but then I need to open the favorites menu, go to the favorites folder and select the favorite which I do not regard as a quick link. Is there a w...

Re: sophisticated move, copy, recycle bin behaviour
| see that xyplorer is now not free anymore and the price is not a bargain. It has a wealth of nice features though so I am considering of buying a license if only the delete ergonomics were less click prone. I want 2 buttons for delete. One button should delete to the recycle bin and only ask for c...
