Re: Custom Drive Open and Closed Icons
Yes, I see that now. I don't know why I didn't see it earlier - when I looked at it just before downloading the beta zipfile, all I saw mentioned was one of the other changes, and not the longer set of multiple changes there now. Sorry.

Re: Custom Drive Open and Closed Icons
I just tried out beta V.12.40.0104 (portable), and the problem (the lack of drives displaying open folder icons at startup) has now gone away. So, that's my report, and I thank you for fixing it so fast. (Oh, by the way, the change log didn't mention this change, but it obviously had been addressed.)

Custom Drive Open and Closed Icons
OK, here's "a new one" (I think). This is with XY 12.40.0100, just downloaded and "installed" today (I'm using the portable version). I ~believe~ this was working fine with the last version I was using (I think it was beta 12.40.0005), but I won't actually guarantee that it worke...

OK - sorry for the poorly aimed advice.Enternal wrote:I'm using it because I'm testing out the examples that Don had put on his beta page:
And, I do see the logic of trying to achieve a "Show system default on normal, honey on open" effect.

Re: Separately Colored Open and Closed Custom Folder Icons (
Why use a pipe before a single icon? Isn't it just for separating two icon filenames (e.g., closed.ico|open.ico)?Enternal wrote:*\>|Icon_6.ICON
*\ /rd>|Icon_6.ICON
Try "*\>Icon_6.ICON and *\ /rd>Icon_6.ICON (?)

Re: Separately Colored Open and Closed Custom Folder Icons (
OK. I just downloaded the latest noinstall beta, V.12.40.0002, and tried out the "piped" closed.ico|open.ico functionality, with separate colors for each drive. I used the following three Pattern>Source lines to try this out with folders on three drives so far (including the three drive ic...

I guess I was trying to accomplish something that is not available yet.
Thanks for the reply.

Separately Colored Open and Closed Custom Folder Icons (Not)
I have started playing around with the new custom folder icon functionality in XYP. Yeah, it's my new XYP toy... :-) I started by copying a number of matching pairs of open and closed folder icons in several colors (all extracted from PowerDesk) to my <xyicons> directory. I intended to use matching ...

Re: Custom File Icons isn't working in Windows 8
To add to the "evidence": Not Windows 8 -- this is about a Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64 Lenovo T420s laptop. I have only tried playing around with custom XYP folder icons so far. When I first turned on Enable Custom File Icons in XYP's configuration, all of my folder icons and the icons for *.ico...

"XYplorer - C:\ - upgraded from v..." in Title Bar
Does anyone know a way to stop the " - upgraded from v[versionnumber]" appearing (as part of "XYplorer - C:\ - upgraded from v...") in the title bar all the time? I have "TitlebarTemplate="<app> - <path>" in XYplorer.ini, but that alone doesn't ask for the version ...

Re: Taming the Right/Second Pane
Hey, thanks, eil. I spent a little time trying to play with the tabset settings. (First I turned off the recently applied "Remember most-recently-used lists" setting.) I had to do some deleting of some apparently corrupted tabset settings files, and then saving the tabset on the right sid...

maybe you just didn't save tabset(did it wrong) for 2nd panel? Hey, thanks, eil. I spent a little time trying to play with the tabset settings. (First I turned off the recently applied "Remember most-recently-used lists" setting.) I had to do some deleting of some apparently corrupted tab...

Re: Selecting Tabs Requires a "Firm"/"Forceful" Click ?
Thanks for the reports and suggestions, everyone. And, to kunkel321 specifically (thanks) - I did check TaskMan on both PCs, and nothing is running amok for CPU (or RAM, either). However, even if some app ~were~ acting greedy, stealing CPU cycles, it would ~still~ be a bit odd that I would only noti...

Re: Taming the Right/Second Pane
Do you have "Remember most-recently-used lists" checked in Configuration - Startup & Exit and under "Apply to..." at least a checkmark before "Tabs"? Should help you in your case... No, I didn't, and I'll try it out for a while - thanks for the tip. I'm not sure I'...
