2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

Taskbar multi-screen display problem

Post by wang_wj5 »

Software version:XYplorer 28.00.0700 (64-bit)
Windows version: Windows 10 Pro for Workstations
screen scaling percentage:100%
When I have multiple screens and I open the software on one screen and drag the software to another screen, the taskbar icon will not be displayed on the other screen.

Thank you!

1) This has worked before, but I recently had to remove it because it was causing crashes for some users. I need to investigate further.

2) By the way, on my dual monitor Windows 11 system, both taskbars always look the same. Is there perhaps a setting for that in Windows?

Yeah there was a change, so now you need to apply it manually if you are affected,

Code: Select all

v28.20.0305 - 2026-03-03 20:32
    + Added tweak to update the taskbar when moving the app window to a new monitor.
        UpdateTaskbarOnMonitorSwitch=1
      Previously, the taskbar updated automatically, which involved a brief, distracting
      flash of the app window. Now, you must opt in to refresh the taskbar. However,
      depending on your system settings and Windows version, Windows may handle this
      automatically, so it might not be necessary.
follow these instructions exactly on how to tweak: https://www.xyplorer.com/faq-topic.php?id=tweak

IT works.Thinks
Additionally, I have a small suggest: I believe such adjustments will increase the difficulty for users. I think the software should prioritize stability in its most fundamental functions.

Just upgraded my PC to a new Win 11 machine and I'm also seeing this bug (multi-monitor not showing Xyplorer in the correct taskbar depending on which screen it's moved to). I've added the tweak as instructed but no change:

UpdateTaskbarOnMonitorSwitch=1

XYplorer V28.30.0100
Win11
100%

Edit: Ignore that, must have been user error as the tweak does seem to work now!
