My licence is no more recognized

Post by cavo789 »

Hi all

Since a few days, my licence is no more recognized and XYplorer show me a "30 Day Trial Version - Day xxx".

I've well a licence. By going to Help -> Unlock trial version, I type my name and my licence key, restart and no, still not recognized.

I've edited the file C:\Users\Christophe\AppData\Roaming\XYplorer\XYplorer.ini and the values there are well correct.

```text
; THE FOLLOWING THREE LINES CONTAIN YOUR REGISTRATION INFORMATION. PLEASE KEEP THIS PART PRIVATE.
Name=<<my name>>
Code=<<my key>
dc=0
```

I already have this problem three years ago (ticket viewtopic.php?t=23083) and this time I can't solve this.

Question: Can I retrieve my key on the xyplorer.com website ? I don't see a "Login" / "My profile" page...

Note: my licence is stored a safe (Bitwarden) so should be correct. I just copy/paste it.

Thanks a lot !

I don't know if it is your issue but in the topic you linked to, you stated that having dc=0 didn't work last time, yet you just posted that is what you are entering again this time. Do you definitely have a lifetime licence, ie. you're not trying to update to a version that is newer than what your licence supports?

Thanks a lot but no success at all. I've followed the link https://www.xyplorer.com/faq-topic.php?id=unlock and followed there any instructions (downloading the PRO version) and no. I've uninstall the current version before doing my multiples attempts and still no; always the same thing i.e. he didn't recognize my name/key.

The XYplorer.ini file is well there, with my info and with "dc=0" (I'm using XYplorer 26.00.0300). What means DC=0 because that's what I see even by uninstalling/reinstalling a PRO version from the URL given here above.

I've bought a PRO lifetime version years ago and always worked until a few days (I'm astonished to see I'm on day 28 of the trial version).

So, question : I've a key and also a xydentity->xxxxxx key. I suppose that one is personal. Using xydentity, can I connect somewhere and retrieve my unlocking key ? Is there any way to check to the key I'm using is still valid ?

Many, many thanks.

Have you not got a single backup of your ini from the last few years?, check the <xydata>\AutoBackup path too.

Your issue is probably something like extra char at end of code or capitalization in username or something trivial.

If you think it necessary, you can email your Name and Key to to be validated:

Hi all

I've followed the tip of Jupe and has sent an email using the contact form.

The author, Donald Lessau, has very fast answered. I've given my name, my xy-identity and my current key and he confirmed ... my key (almost the same) in his email by mentionning "don't type but copy/paste it". I do it and oh it works...

By using my favorite editor, vscode, I can see that the two first group in my key where separated by an "en dash" (ASCII code 150) and not by a "dash" (ASCII code 45). Visually, the two characters are the same and looks like a minus sign.

I really don't know how my key was altered (I'm using Bitwarden) but, now, it's working back. I've update my key in Bitwarden and add a "Please note" comment for the next time the problem occurs.

Thanks guys and thanks Donald.
