As long as you change the location in Configuration | Thumbnails accordingly, it should not be a problem.

Re: Question about thumnails cache
I *think* XYplorer uses the opposite approach, i.e. it has one central thumbnail cache in a distinct folder instead of storing separate thumbnail caches in each folder it applies to. From the help file:
Alternatively, you can direct XYplorer to use the Windows Shell thumbnail mechanism; in combination with disabling XYplorer's caching (Tools > Configuration > Cache thumbnails on disk) you should have per-folder (Windows Shell) cache files; I haven't tested this, however.Cache thumbnails on disk
While the processing on the fly is pretty fast (BTW, it can be aborted at any time by ESC), you can achieve speed of light if you enable the thumbnail caching. Contrary to Explorer, no hidden "thumbs.db" files will be scattered all around your hard disk, but XYplorer stores all cache data in one central folder whose name and location you can choose yourself (button Browse...) (default is a folder "Thumbnails" located right under the app's data folder).

Re: Question about thumnails cache
I think it depends on which folder will be renamed/moved. If it's the one containing thumbs then just adjusting the folder path should suffice. If it's where the images are then he may need to rebuild the cache.nas8e9 wrote:I *think* XYplorer uses the opposite approach, i.e. it has one central thumbnail cache in a distinct folder instead of storing separate thumbnail caches in each folder it applies to.

I didn't Understand yet, I have selected cache thumbnails on disk and its default folder is "Thumbnails\" in Appdata
How I can make it create on each folder i viewed in thumbnails
Sorry for annoying but I change names of folders too much so I won't to lose more time to rebuild thumbnail every time i change my folder name

Re: Question about thumnails cache
There is only one central cache folder.karimmaster101 wrote:I didn't Understand yet, I have selected cache thumbnails on disk and its default folder is "Thumbnails\" in Appdata

But if you change folder names using XYplorer (= rename folder within XYplorer interface) the cache will automatically adjust to the new name. Try it, it works.
