All
I am cleaning up a large data folder collection on my file server.
Every time I select a dozen folders, Right-Click/Drag them to a completely different destination folder, release the right click button and choose "Move Here To New Subfolder" - I am prompted for a new folder name, I enter it and the move completes - but then XY auto expands the tree to show me the dozen folders that I moved - which gets annoying about one second after doing this the first time.
I have been clicking options on and off but cannot find the right combo to turn this off. (If it can be turned off?)
Ideally - I need XY to create the new destination folder that I typed in - but I do not need all the folders moved there to auto expand whatsoever.
If this is possible - please let me know what I need to turn on or off within the XY Config.
Cheers

Cannot even reproduce it. Can you give a more detailed description and instructions?

Re: Disable tree auto expansion when moving network folders?
Sure (I have now confirmed this ONLY occurs on a network drive - and only when copying/moving from another network location)
1. Open a network location with say - a folder with 5 directorys full of things. (not too large for this test)
2. Highlight the 5 folders full of things
3. Right click + HOLD + Drag the 5 folders to a new network folder location (Preferably one with an existing folder structure)
4. Release the right mouse button and choose Copy Here to New Subfolder
5. Give the folder a name
6. The new named folder is created - but the drop targets all decide to expand out
This is with 5 folders. Imagine it with 30.
Hope this helps.

Re: Disable tree auto expansion when moving network folders?
Define "new network folder location". You mean on a different server?
Is this mapped or UNC?
... well, in the meantime I tried every possible combination and it never happens. :\

Re: Disable tree auto expansion when moving network folders?
In the example above - I am working on my file server (SWS-FS-001) that is hanging off the XY network tree
Copying the 5 folders from:
\\SWS-FS-001\Data Archive\Work Data\2015\Expenses
TO
\\SWS-FS-001\Data Archive\Personal Data\2015\Test Drop
And yes - totally understand if you cannot reproduce which likely means I have a setting somewhere that differs from yours - hence my inquiry.
Cheers

Re: Disable tree auto expansion when moving network folders?
Since you confirmed that
TreeExpandTargetFolder=0
I'm out of ideas. BTW, it also does not make sense that this should only happen with network paths.

Re: Disable tree auto expansion when moving network folders?
Agreed. I clearly have something either on (or off) that is causing it if you cannot reproduce.
With the hundreds of settings in XY - it will be an adventure finding it.

There are not so many that have Tree and Expand in the name.
