Unable to register XYPlorer on new PC

I just got an HP Pavillion PC, and when I select Help -> Unlock Trial Version, then enter my name and serial#, then I click OK. At this point a message is displayed saying "Thank you! Now click Ok and then close the app and reopen it". I've done this three times. I make sure I select File -> Exit (Saving) from the menu. I bought and paid for this version and licensed it on my laptop.

Any ideas why I am unable to license XYP on my new PC?
