Select in tree view and jump to pre-opend tab

I am confused because I cannot imagine XYplorer can't do this, considering how powerful it is in other respects.

I tend to explore my hard drives by using the tree and then clicking on a folder to get it to open a tab in one of the panes. Having opened a few folders like this, I then want to use the tree and click on a folder and have that folder (which I opened earlier) given focus in it's existing pane/tab. At the moment clicking on a pre-opened folder in the tree just causes another (duplicate) tab to be opened in the active pane.

How can I get it to behave in the way I would like please?

I address this by using several tabs with locked home zones. If the folder is already opened in such a tab, then clicking on the folder from the tree will take you back to that tab. The tab will also be reused for any other folders underneath the home zone as well. This is the key to avoiding excessive tab proliferation.

This can only happen if the current tab is locked. In this case you can avoid tab proliferation by defining one tab as "Default Tab". Right-click the tab header of the tab and tick "Default Tab".

Additionally, inspired by your post, I added something to the next beta:

    + Tweak TabReuseTabs: Now it's a bit field. Value 2 (via Tree) is new.
        TabReuseTabs=...
      1: Re-use existing tabs when changing locations through 
      Favorite Folders, Favorite Files, Special System Folders, Hotlist, 
      Recent Locations, or Catalog.
      2: Re-use existing tabs when changing locations via Tree.
      3: Both.

So, set TabReuseTabs=3 to have maximum re-use of tabs.
