May I ask.. do you have anything special in your shell ctxt menu?? Cause obviously the XY menu is filled with lots of great features (which I love), but the 3 first commands are Move/Copy/Backup Here ; which are the only ones I get on the shell ctxt menu (with create shortcuts, but I never use that one)John Bee wrote:99% of the time, I use only what is in the systems context menu.

Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).
We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.
When attaching an Image, please use the Attachment tab at the bottom of your post and click "Add files".

WinRar and 7z both put entries in the context menu. (Extract files, extract here, Extract to separate folders)
This saves from having to open the extracter program surfing to the archive and then surfing to where it should be extracted. The dragNdrop solves this in 2 clicks of the mouse.
This is the most used entry in that menu for me. That is why I wish it was near/at the top of the custom menu, then I would have it on all the time, because I agree with Don that that menu has a lot of good stuff on it.

Re: Just a gues...
Hey John

I usually extract in (a subfolder of) the same folder so that probably explains why I never tried it, I guess. I can see how usefull this can be indeed, but I honestly don't know is the "Shell Context Menu..." would "make sense" being on top on the XU ctxt menu
(or maybe as very 1st item followed by a separator?)
Have no idea how/if this is do-able, but what could be cool would be if those extra entries could be shown on XY'x ctxt menu, on a new section after the classic "Move/Copy/Backup Here"...
oooh nice.. I'm a WinRAR user aswell (best tool in its category, IMHO) and I know & use those commands from the file's ctxt menu, but I had never realized they were also available on that shell ctxt menu aswell!John Bee wrote: WinRar and 7z both put entries in the context menu. Ya, I think I would be happy with either of these suggestions, but the first one preferably.
This method of dealing with archives via this drag N drop, is really a time saver. Especially when you're talking about extracting many archives at the same time to separate folders (which both of them are capable of).

What you maybe don't know: in the custom menu, press H to open the shell menu.
All in one menu: not doable AFAIK.

No, no, not all in one menu, just wanting the link to the standard context menu (nearer the top/at the top) of your context menu, instead of at the bottom, where it is now.

But I don't want it at the top. Why not simply press "H" in the custom context menu?!John Bee wrote:Hi Don;admin wrote:All in one menu: not doable AFAIK.

And what about the accelerators?

Next time I am in Vista, I will check that out for you.

Ok, the only place in the config dialog where I see an underline is on the Thumbnails tab at the bottom:
Don't extract thumbnails......
The 'x' is underlined.

As of 0043, all seems to be good, they are all there (as far as I tell).
I was not online at all yesterday
