Clickable breadcrumbs.
Re: Clickable breadcrumbs.
has development started on CB or else when will you start it ? Kindly give answer .
Add this in a way as,if i click in the middle of the path of cb,still the whole path should be visible and not lost, such that i can go backward or forward.UNIQUE.

Re: Clickable breadcrumbs.
Don has not revealed much about how Clickable breadcrumbs works, but I feel Windows Explorer's style is perfect.

Re: Clickable breadcrumbs.
Yes, downward breadcrumb is a unique feature in XY's current menu based breadcrumb already now. Of course, I will keep this in the new breadcrumb.shyam wrote:has development started on CB or else when will you start it ? Kindly give answer .

Re: Clickable breadcrumbs.
It's been my experience that Don doesn't like to give timeframes as he works on his own schedule/timeline and trying to pin him down is counterproductive...and he's still got at least another month from his prior post range...garon wrote:How many more weeks?
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

Yes, and generally my attitude to time frames and dead lines is that of Douglas Adams. And my attitude to unpolite users is ice-cold and brutal. Zero tolerance.

Re: Clickable breadcrumbs.
I just came to an idea of how breadcrumbs could behave and an easy way to switch to editable field to edit the path/address.
I'm not sure if this method has been discussed.
The normal state is breadcrumbs, and left click would follow the click and the corresponding crumb under the cursor would be activated (go to its path).
The right mouse click (RMB) would activate context menu or anything we already know.
But RMB activates the context menu on button up.
An easy way to activate the edit state of the field could be: press RMB then press LMB (right button still down). When both buttons are up, you already know to activate the edit state and not context menu. Or given the fact that LMB also activates on button up, this could be just LRMB (in any order) and up. The middle mouse button would also be a good option for the purpose.
I feel this would be very intuitive and easy action to perform.
Ctrl + clicking in the location bar could also be an option.
The current behavior in WExplorer in Win7 is questionable - it depends on clicking in an empty area of the addressbar. But it occupies a single row and we almost never run out of space, no matter the length of the path. XY allows for the location bar next to the toolbar, so it's not a viable alternative.

Re: Clickable breadcrumbs.
Next beta will have Breadcrumbs, Phase 1.
A lot of things will come (no need to remind me!), but here is the reason why I publish
Phase 1 now: You can right-click the Breadcrumbs to change the
style (Path, Triangles). This is because I'm unsure which style is
better (or take both, or what), so I need an opinion. This menu
will disappear in later versions.
