Thanks for the link, interesting!

Remarkable selection of inspiration sources there. The clear FM market leaders TC and DO get no mention. I bet by tomorrow the comments section is packed with TC fanboy testimonials...

Hey, nice that XY is the only non-freeware file manager mentioned. :D

No, it is not.

Anyway, wondering why they said "we are inspired by stuff like the QTTabBar and XYplorer" and the new Windows Explorer still neither has tabs nor dual panels ...

1. So, what's the other one? (Don't say x2 -- this is freeware, even if there's payware under the same name.)

2. Probably it's their way of saying thank you for the Exclude extension on rename idea which AFAIK I had first (at least I can guarantee I did not steal it from anybody).

x² free does not have the "robust copy" functionality AFAIR which Microsoft seems to like much.
(For the records: I am not a spy here, I own two laptops, thus I need two file managers ... :) )

Nah, "stealing" would mean the other ones don't have it anymore.

1. Might be, but it does not affect my point. Admit it: "x2" is free-er than "xy". :)

2. Uuh, what a pre-digital conception of stealing!

XY has no "piracy check" AFAICS, x² has. So: No.

Analog stealing = $thing is elsewhere afterwards.
Digital "stealing" = $thing remains where it was before.

I do believe that there is at least one, so feel free to find that Easter egg ;)

Well, I "pirated" XY for a week or so until I decided to buy a lifetime license (for the aforementioned reason), so it might be hard to find it. I'll take any hints by PM though.
