In Explorer, it's not even possible to right-click drag files onto an existing RAR file, even if an archive isn't locked. You should be able to disable this. LMB drop is the opposite -- works in Explorer, fails in XYplorer. However, if I open an archive in WinRAR and DnD a file from XY into WinRAR, works like a charm. So, when WinRAR fetches a file from XYplorer, it's all good. I tried 7.30 from the freezer and it's present there too. So it's a bug that has been around for a few years. If you cannot solve it (debug mode time?), can you disable LMB DnD onto RAR archives altogether then? I won't rule it out. Judging by the fact that RMB DnD onto RAR is disabled in Explorer in Win7 (no Vista image to hand to test), it's probably for a good reason. My speculation is that Microsoft may have tweaked that interface (IDropTarget) in Win7. I have tried other file managers and it works fine there, which confines it to XYplorer. You may be right. I tried 32-bit variants of those FMs and they aren't so keen all of a sudden.
