Good effort. I would suggest that you bring those teeny weeny buttons from the very bottom of the page to the top alongside the Facebook and RSS feed buttons. They are small enough to be unobtrusive, you won't get much use out of them otherwise.

I kept some half-heartedly below because I'm unsure of their use and reputation. So you say it's cool and useful to have them up there right "in their face"?

I don't think that they are "in your face". Certainly not like those big "Download" and "But Now" buttons were.

Also, I think you messed up the way you added the Like button code. I click on it, but it does not result in liking it in the same way if I were to go to the Facebook page that you created and click "Like", which it should. This is what your code should be:

Haha. The Add This widget is currently in a flexible mode and shows the 4 "most preferred" buttons according to where you are. However, I can also hard-code the buttons. So which buttons should be shown?

I see this exact same widget on a wide variety of sites and it's never bothered me that some of the items are not quite as popular as they may have been at one time because I was sure that it wasn't up to the site owner as to what items were showing...and on the expanded list, there are social media sites that I've never heard of but which may be popular in other parts of the world...and that's fine.

The problem with hard-coding buttons is that you then would likely have to keep track of what sites are used mostly and where...not something Don needs to be doing.

True, but as a control freak, I just could not resist hard-coding it (I checked which are apparently pretty important today). The other hundreds of buttons are still available under the "red-plus" button.

But...please add v#.##.#### to tweets so that people know what vers you're referring to, ok? Maybe begin with that string?

My 2 cents here: from the regular Twitter-user-point-of-view, why "New XYplorer BETA version released, v x.YY.zzzz" would be of interest? I can see Don has regularly one or two betas launched a day, and I can imagine a long series of such messages on the road. Boring on a Twitter page, right?

Another potential problem is, with due respect, getting the version numbers always right: there have been problems with that on the website in the past, which makes adding another location where that has got to be right, even more work?

Also, I think a short description of what the new version brings, is much more informative as well as engaging. The one thing version-wise that might be useful, is whether it's a beta or a release version.

No, I won't add twitter to my daily grind (I have already too many boring routines). I'll rather use it in between, irregularly, and informally.

As a regular Twitter user also, I agree with above...that's why when I was running the acct, I used it strictly as way of announcing new Official vers and to reply to tweets re XY that I found via search...if Don wants to add other items, that's great but my point was that when referring to a new vers or feature, the actual vers nbr needs to be included, I believe.

But remember that a reply from @XY to @abc (where @abc is the very first chars in tweet) won't show on my @j5 timeline but a general tweet will so tiago's example is slightly flawed.
