"Not available" icon on tabs

Post by LittleBiG »

Little cosmetic problem. An icon would be nice instead of empty space...

I find the missing icon not that bad for this purpose. Everything else could theoretically be a real icon and thus be ambiguous.

Hey, I like those big red shiny text bubbles! What software?

A new screen capture utility, Screenpresso :)

Personally, lack of icon was confusing for me first time. I thought there was some problem with text aligning on tabs.

Thanks.

I admit it looks like a bug to newbies. Which is bad. I'll think about it...

The red exclamation in the address bar is a bit nerve wracking when I'm typing. Kind of makes me feel like one wrong key press will reformat my computer and start the apocalypse.

Can it either be limited to only show when the location is submitted or at least changed to something less panic-inducing until the address is submitted or not changed for some period?

Personally I really like the way it is now. I can see clearly and immediately, that there is no point in pressing <enter> button in the address bar, because the command or path is not valid...

My original problem was related to tabs, but I'm really happy that Don rose the solution to a higher level. I like the recent menu with red icons as well.

We had the visual clue before because it just wouldn't show an icon. I just think if XY can determine when the box is dirty (has changed but not submitted content) then a friendlier icon could be used.

The red exclamation point feels like someone rudely interrupting me before I can finish speaking.

EDIT: Don't ask why but for some reason I find this icon more distracting when typing than I did no icon at all.

It is a warning, some kind of pre-error message, so the icon seems reasonable to me. However, we are not alike :)

I thought the same this morning. I just started to type something in AB then XY intrudes me with error icon. I was like: dude! i am not done yet!. Its a different matter if i pushed enter and i get this.
On the plus side: its a good way to quickly check if a folder exists without going there.
so its like +1 -1 for me.

Note: for cd/dvd paths i see hand icon, not error icon.
