Refresh Current Folder vs Refresh List
Is there anything significantly different between these menus in View? Is there a situation when Current Folder != List? I have had a look in the help file and changelog and couldn't find what the discrepancies are. I have also played around with the functionality and did not notice any variations. Is it warranted to have them distinctly separate or can they be consolidated into 1 menu entry?

From the help file:zer0 wrote:Is there anything significantly different between these menus in View? Is there a situation when Current Folder != List? andRefresh Current Folder
Updates the just the current folder.
Based on that, the difference seems to be that Refresh List maintains any selections and scroll position; I'm not sure whether Refresh Current Folder also refreshes the tab icon. Personally, I'm much more likely to use the (fairly newly added) Refresh function (which is also the new default for F5), but I can see Refresh List being useful on occasion. I'm guessing that such functionality has been requested in the past?Refresh List
Updates the current list data, but keeps any selections and scroll position. Also refreshes the tab icon.

Refresh Current Folder also maintains selection and scroll position, so is the difference boils down to a refresh of the tab icon?

Ah, I hadn't tested the behaviour. A refresh of the tab icon on its own, does seem a little light for a separate command.zer0 wrote:Refresh Current Folder also maintains selection and scroll position, so is the difference boils down to a refresh of the tab icon?

Re: Refresh Current Folder vs Refresh List
They are completely different:
Current Folder: refreshes the tree (the current node and its childs, i.e. the current branch)
List: refreshes the list.
Current Folder: refreshes the tree (the current node and its childs, i.e. the current branch)
List: refreshes the list.

Aha, the documentation does not reflect the fact that refreshing current folder also refreshes the tree. A distinct feature indeed.admin wrote:They are completely different:
