Feature Request: XYplorer Program Icon Change

Which two colors do you mean? The blue-to-green gradient, or the beach vs blue-green background.

To my (again, unskilled) eye, the X-half has a subtly different background to the Y-half. I guess you mean with gradient the transition rather than sharp delineation of the two (not miles-apart) colours?

BTW, is it only me or does the XY shape look like the head of an aardvark? So, XY from now on might be informally called Fireaardvark.

As for the text, what if bottom-right of X blended seamlessly with upper-left of Y? That Y can be the traditional one or a larger version of y. With the latter scenario, X's line that goes from top right corner to bottom left can be parallel with y's / [forward-slash looking] part.

I have to say, i like the latest icon the most so far. Some more tweaks here and there with color etc will make it more attractive.

Actually I made an orange version of the icon. Not ultimately sure whether I take the green or the orange one as the future default app icon. The next BETA will use the green one just to force-feed it to you...

Hands down I find the orange one looks better than the blue/green one.

Although it also looks a lot like a piece of candy corn now.

Knee-jerk reaction bit of feedback...I do lack that orange icon in my taskbar, so I won't be using the green one. My eyes are on space above taskbar most of the time, so it means that I have to teach my peripheral vision to tell my brain about a new icon -- my brain won't like that Also, with a tweak set to "0" or "1", the old orange "XY" icon appears for a split second and is then replaced by an appropriate one. Not a bug as that's when INI is probably read in, but I'm sure someone would have mentioned it sooner or later

Really? Not here, and it looks pretty impossible from the code. Maybe some cache thing...?

Really really. It's on XP, will try on Win 7 in a few hours. I have heard something about taskbar and desktop caching, but as I have already switched to the old-skool orange "XY" icon. I'm happy to do some digging if you think it's worth investigative effort, but it looks like some cache/glitch so I'd think it's low prio

I was seeing a bit of the old orange icon at times when using the alternate black one, but haven't noticed it yet with v9.00.0015.

Seeing the icons in the program reveals that the white XY are very hard to make out on the orange, and in this respect the blue/green looks better. However, I still don't like the blue/green colors.

I am liking the overall design though, so for me it's just the colors that need some work.

I really like that dark red but not the purple it becomes. I wonder if the gradient should even be there for the 16x16 version, it sometimes seems to make things too busy.

That said one (unfortunate) problem with the red is the shape is similar to a shield so we end up with that typical danger-danger (Will Robinson) impression.

(I wish I had some time to play around in Photoshop, as I feel like I'm being persnickety and useless just making comments on your attempts instead of embarrassingly showing off how bad my design skills are. )

Actually I made an orange version of the icon.

I do like that color best but not sure how well it looks in 16x16, as someone else siad the white on orange in old style works good but in this smaller one, could be an issue...so thus : have you tried another color for the XY on this orange? Like the forum blue?
