Reinstalling/Updating
I'd like to install the new release of XYplorer, but I'll be installing it on a different drive to the current one. I've put a lot of time into setting up XY just how I want, and I don't want to have to do it again - which files/folders should I hang on to to copy over to the new drive to ensure all my settings are retained?

Re: Reinstalling/Updating
XYplorer is portable, so you can copy the whole XYplorer folder over to another drive and have it running with all settings intact (providing application data path is the same as application path, so both would be copied together)the_hyrax_lord wrote:I'd like to install the new release of XYplorer, but I'll be installing it on a different drive to the current one. A word of caution: location (and even OS) specific data may cause issues. A couple examples: a) on previous drive (and I presume another OS?) you may have a script that accesses WinRAR on C:\, but on new drive you don't have WinRAR installed or have it in diff location b) Or if you use property script command to retrieve info about specific file types -- the property words are different from OS to OS. In both cases appropriate changes would be needed.the_hyrax_lord wrote:Well, that was easy. Thanks a lot.

Well, this reminds me to "Warning: Contents May Be Hot"...zer0 wrote:A word of caution: location (and even OS) specific data may cause issues. I've a couple of good ones for you: "Do not turn upside down" (printed on the bottom of a container) and "Warning: contains nuts" (on a packet of peanuts)admin wrote:Well, this reminds me to "Warning: Contents May Be Hot"...
