skydrive or Dropbox script?
It would be real handy if there was an option to define a toolbar button to a script that would connect to your skydrive account or Dropbox and show the folders in the left pane- would be nice if this scipt came with the program. I know you cant make a script for every webservice out there but these 2 seem very popular along with Gmail.
Why doesn't everybody have a great user name like mine?

Regarding SkyDrive, it may be more difficult than you think. Not in the least because of LiveID authentication that has to be performed in order for you to be allowed access to SkyDrive storage. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. There is a piece of software called SkyDrive Explorer (http://skydriveexplorer.com/index.php) and one of its forthcoming features is to allow mapping of your SkyDrive to a drive letter. Once that's possible, you should be able to use XYplorer to manage files/folders.little titty wrote:It would be real handy if there was an option to define a toolbar button to a script that would connect to your skydrive account or Dropbox and show the folders in the left pane- would be nice if this scipt came with the program. Regarding Dropbox, I am not as confident. However, once Win 7 integration will start hitting its strides, we hope to get handling of GUIDs. Knowing a GUID, you will hopefully be able to manage your Dropbox folders in XYplorer. We'll see in due course

Hi about skydrive I notice that there is a plugin for Totalcommander that allows you to explore your skydrive folders in one of your normal panes.

There are several approaches that can be taken. Once an aforementioned program is updated to allow mapping then you should be able to use XYplorer to manage SkyDrive. I think that's the path of least resistance...and work!little titty wrote:Hi about skydrive I notice that there is a plugin for Totalcommander that allows you to explore your skydrive folders in one of your normal panes.

I think it would be wise to wait and see how things develop. I am also cautious, because providing native support for such services will arouse supporters of implementing FTP functionality as it's just a different kind of file transfer over IP. So this endeavour should progress gradually over time

I must say that build-up to Apple's latest product launch kind of got me thinking how useful XY can be as cloud-based computing grows. Using tethered shooting technology, one can have photos sent automatically to a folder on their computer. A CEA in XYplorer will resize that photo and transfer it to SkyDrive/Dropbox folder for on-the-fly sync over IP. The one can have a website/gallery/blog that would show those images almost in real-time...awesome stuff!!!

Re: skydrive or Dropbox script?
I don't understand what part of Dropbox you can't use in XYplorer. Can someone please elucidate?
I use Dropbox, and have a locked, iconised tab in XYplorer which points to "C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\My Documents\My Dropbox\" - Dropbox operates just like any other folder on your HD, except that it syncs to a server in the background. Nothing in XYplorer prevents that, and both the icon overlays and right-click context option are still there. I can't really think of what else you might need.

Do you use a script that uses a drive as a representation of dropbox script ?arirish wrote:I don't understand what part of Dropbox you can't use in XYplorer. Can someone please elucidate?
