how do I change the icon for catalogue on the toolbaar?

I can right click a new toolbar button to get options but how do I change an already existing button. I want to change the icon for the catalogue as I find the look of that icon doesn't remind me of anything.

Are you wanting to change the icon of a TB icon other than CTB's? If so, I don't think it can be done now.

Correct. But if anybody has an idea for a better icon I will change it.

Yes I was, I thought it would be possible. The orange block doesnt really say anything to me!
Is it possible to create a new item which can call the catalogue feature? seems not.
I was going to use an icon that looked like a book or small filing cabinet

Never really thought about this but I would agree that a book or cabinet might be more intuitive.

I did some research and came across this icon

Nice research. Having not used the Catalog for a spell returned to it over New Year's. The icon is perfect for the CTB to Show/Hide it.

It appears that the toolbar icons are about 22x22, and to me the image Zer0 found becomes unrecognizable that small.

I found this one which looks more identifiable scaled down:

I believe it's actually 24x24...and yes, your blue cabinet is much clearer at that small size, I think.

Right click just offers to save a jpeg not download a multi-image ico file. That is why the source URL was requested.

It's a single image file. I've resaved it as an ICO file.
