As much as my eyes may sometimes linger over Mac's UI's different shades of grey and blue, I see no place for it on the Windows platform. There is a risk of being accused of being an Apple fan-boy and of GUI not being skinnable. However, the biggest concern is that GUI on the Windows platform must follow the principle of least astonishment (POLA). That's why I don't like the way iTunes looks on my Win 7 -- it's a port of a Mac application, after all.

We may not like to admit it, but in this modern day and age we do judge a book by its cover. The looks shouldn't cloud our judgement, but they do. The worst possibility is a sheep of a program that is presented in wolf's clothing. XYplorer, on the other hand, is a wolf of a program, but in sheep's clothing. It need to look like a wolf to be taken as a wolf. Just not literally...

P.S. At least, knowledge that Don admires Mac GUIs fills me with hope that those rounded corners may become a reality 8)
