Expanding Folders

Post by neil »

Is there a way that I can automatically expand a folder and all subfolders once I click on a folder?

Thanks

Hi and a belated welcome to the XY forums from me as well!

From the wiki "Tree" page, we find this:
You can easily fully expand or collapse a full branch by using a folder's context menu, using the keyboard shortcuts (Numpad Multiply (*) and Numpad Divide (/)), or simply hold Ctrl while clicking on the plus/minus icons ! (Find all related commands on folders' context submenu Expansion)

Is that what you're referring to?

As a new user, I'd suggest making extensive use of the wiki as it's a great assist to the Help information, in that more examples and detail can be given.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

Thank you for the welcome and I really appreciate the help being provided.

Yes, your suggestion is almost exactly what I wanted. What I really wanted was that if I clicked a on folder then it would "automatically" exoand that foder and all below. You suggestion does that bit requires that I do something rather than having it done automatically.

Thank you.

You can do that already, but the expansion will not expand the folders within the expanded folders. To automatically expand, you need to click on that "[+]---" that precedes a folder's name. If the length of that is too short for you then you can increase its length by moving your mouse cursor into the tree pane area, holding Shift and scroll down using the mouse's wheel.

There's also "Expand tree nodes on single-click" in configuration/general.
