And now that we've gone off on a complete tangent =) ... I've always found Compiled HTML (CHM) nicely usable. Microsoft makes its CHM authoring tool available for free.

I obviously have not delved into the subject as much as you have. =)Oh, I wished I could "help", but only thinking of the topic makes me sick. For me personally it's one of the big mysteries of the computer age, why help software generally sucks, even if it's ridiculously overpriced.

Well, the Wiki is user-maintained. Make it current!Jeff Bellune wrote:PS - The Wiki is awesome, too. It's just not current.

Re: Special Folder Support (especially in Vista)
Thanks for the tip! I didn't check the FAQ - I figured like so many of *my* 32-bit apps, once Help didn't work in Vista 64, an upgrade would be required. Adding to all of that is the fact that so far, XY is the only application that I have whose help file fails in Vista 64.j_c_hallgren wrote:So...doesn't the "fix" as suggested on site FAQ (http://www.xyplorer.com/faq.htm) page under 'Issues' work for you? (See http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=82148) I'm not a Vista guy but that page says it's valid for V-64 as I read it.
And I certainly didn't expect M$ to provide a fix for free. Forcing developers to update to a 64-bit compatible version of Help would seem to be an irresistible cash cow for them. Maybe I should take the dollar sign out of Micro$oft?
Thanks again,

Unfortunately, I didn't possess sufficient knowledge at the time to make it current.admin wrote:Well, the Wiki is user-maintained. Make it current!Jeff Bellune wrote:PS - The Wiki is awesome, too. It's just not current.
BTW Don, how do you feel about copying and pasting the help file contents to the Wiki?
