Re: Select files

I'm still waiting for additional people to voice their interest... Right now you seem to be the only one...

EDIT: After sleeping a night, I'm totally on Don's side. People using the Mouse in Left-handed-mode can easily switch buttons in Windows settings and XY would respect those, so, that feature would be purely a nostalgic thing.

Norton Commander (and the other two, too) were one of the first visual browsers, and that was already sufficient to explain it's existence, since we had been using DOS Commands before. Norton Commander could list files, copy files, move files, and that's roughly about all.

XYplorer is way beyond that level and, honestly... the right mouse-button is already used and popping-up the context-menu (something Norton Commander did not have) would have to be relocated... for nostalgic reasons.

So, unless there's a significant demand for that feature... I doubt Don will reconsider.

I feel like I'm talking to deaf people. Very bad quality for people who want to distribute their favorite program. Personally, I have lost all interest in it, although the program itself is nice. I wish you all the best, happiness, health and good mood.

A developer takes many things into consideration when a user requests a new feature. User demand is one criteria and there certainly has been a lack of that here. Usually a user will comment that "yes, please do this" or give the idea a "+1." There has been none of that here. Also the developer would take into consideration the degree of difficulty in adding/changing the requested feature, how important they feel it to be, and where it would rank amongst the other requests.

So your statement that you're talking to deaf people is not accurate. It's simply that other users do not see a need for the requested feature and are therefore not replying. I for one, hear you, but see no need for it. And more importantly, Don has got enough to do with full porting XY over to twinBasic.

This was never replied to. So who's deaf?
