Quick Search (F3) How to search exact word-STAG without POSTAGE
Quick Search (F3) How to search exact word-STAG without POSTAGE
I cannot see "match exact word" so how may I find "Stag"
without 100's of results with "postage"
Thank you.
Also when I am in a folder of say 1000 images
when I hit right arrow, for next image, the result seems to jump all over the place
does not select the next image in line (sorted alphabetically)
Thank you for any assistance

Stag*I cannot see "match exact word" so how may I find "Stag"

Yes, this is not the "dos" syntax
PS. click on the " i " icon to see search syntax
This is down arrow for the next image (right arrow change column if display is small icons so seems to skip several files)when I hit right arrow, for next image, the result seems to jump all over the place

Re: Quick Search (F3) How to search exact word-STAG without POSTAGE
Thank you Marc.
Nothing worked.
So let's clarify
I have 500 or so folders, each with say 1000 images
I use quick search, which is fabulous but "stag" brings up unessassrily words like "postage"
I have gone to "i" for syntax but not astute enough to find a solution
stag* does not work
I am working with *.jpg files and searching on image captions / file or image names.
-----------
When I open a folder of images
right click will move on to the next image alphabetically ...good
down arrow moves to next line down
However, I want to "Toggle" two adjoining images, to detect postage stamp forgeries or varieties
so I click on the first image to bring it to full screen, then click right arrow, but that brings up seemingly random images in that folder
not the next alpha adjoining image
Any ideas?

Hmm, since "Match whole word" is a very common option in such search dialogs, I wonder if I should add a toggle button for it to the mini toolbar in Quick Search (F3). Opinions?

Re: Quick Search (F3) How to search exact word-STAG without POSTAGE
Just some feedback on the new buttons, I noticed that there is no indication that the buttons are pressed in the QS header, and since the address bar results are linked, that could lead to users wondering why they are getting no results, because when invoked from AB there is no way of knowing the results might have been altered, and the buttons pressed state is easily overlooked, so I think if it possible, indicating the switches that are activated in the header would be helpful.

Replace the buttons Match Case and Whole Word by checkboxs
and QS/QV by a radiobutton
