Performance lag starting from 26.40.0300

Post by yogi »

The versions 26.40.0300 and later have noticeable performance lag.
When rolling back to 26.40.0200, performance returned to normal.
Test with default configuration still reproduces

Try it with words. What exactly is slower than expected?

1. Hold down the left mouse button to select multiple files and quickly move the selection box away from the files.
Perform the action quickly repeatedly without releasing the left mouse button
2. When there is a horizontal scrollbar, hold down the left mouse button and quickly move the mouse left and right to make the scrollbar move.

This can have so many causes (= so many types of work being triggered). Can you show a screenshot?

1) Does it make a difference if you remove that right-most column?

2) Does it make a difference if you turn off Color Filters?

1) Deleting the column on the far right has no effect
2) Turning off the color filter has no effect

I found the reason. Same problem as this one

Modify Line numbers relative font size to 100 and the performance returns to normal

Wow, that's a surprising fact!

(Talking to myself: Why is that? I don't see any slowdown here.)

What was the previous value, was it 90? Do you see a difference in the size of the line numbers between 90 and 100?

What's the font?

PS: Did anybody else notice slowdowns due to 90% line numbers font size?

1) And the font size?

2) Try v26.50.0201. Is it faster?
