Hello all,
I encounter an issue,
I have created a customized File Association for PDF-files.
For single file the file opens after hitting the ENTER-button.
For several files only one (randomly it seems) file is open.
When I select the command File > Open Selected Item(s) for selected files only one file is opened.
When I select the command File > Open With... and select the program from the menu then all selected files are opened.
Can anyone shed some light as to resolve it so I can open several files by hitting the ENTER-button.
Thanks in advance.

Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).
We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.
When attaching an Image, please use the Attachment tab at the bottom of your post and click "Add files".

@Don: I can't seem to repro the exact behavior described, but if a CFA entry is for a registered app (eg notepad/wordpad default entries) I only get a single item opened, or does that require OpenAllSelectedInMultipleInstances ?

Indeed (and it should not require OpenAllSelectedInMultipleInstances).
Can you confirm that it does work with File | Open with Arguments...?

Re: Multiple PDF files won't open with enter key
Well, it does require OpenAllSelectedInMultipleInstances. But the result does not depend on whether an application is registered or not, but on whether an application can handle multiple documents in a single instance. I did some testing and it looks like
OpenAllSelectedInMultipleInstances=1 is a good general setting. Applications that can handle multiple documents seem to automatically merge multiple calls into one instance, other applications (like Notepad) will open a separate instance for each document. So it seems that the default for this tweak should be
OpenAllSelectedInMultipleInstances=1. Perhaps the whole tweak should be removed. So, the message to the OP anatolewilson is to set this tweak:
Code: Select all
