When Show Dimensions on Thumbnail are enabled they are incorrect for some files, presumably ones that can contain embedded thumbnails are showing the embed size instead, I will use PSD in the example, but from memory it happens with some other formats, eg.

Re: Overlay Thumbnail dimensions can be erroneous
Yes, it's the size of the embedded thumbnail. I think it should be shown here, since this is also the size you see when doing MDBU or Hover Box.
But I agree that this looks like a bug, especially since the feature is called "Show dimensions of original". So I will append the dimensions of the original in this case.
I only found it (and did it) for PSD files. Let me know if you find other extensions.

Re: Overlay Thumbnail dimensions can be erroneous
Personally I am surprised anyone would want the embedded thumbnail dimensions in this context, the way it is now you'll need a pretty large thumbnail to be able to read them both, but anyway it doesn't matter to me, I rarely work with psd.

Re: Overlay Thumbnail dimensions can be erroneous
It tells you that the thumbnail/MDBU/hover box is made from an embedded thumbnail. Otherwise you would be surprised why they are so small.

Re: Overlay Thumbnail dimensions can be erroneous
I was surprised today why it (the label) was suddenly so big.
I was quite shocked and thought my XYPlorer was broken.
Sorry - It looks terrible and is absolutely unusable.
The text is wider than the thumbnail and already goes over the thumbnail of the file to the left of it.
If so, then make it optional or that you can choose which size you want to display. But the way it is now - it doesn't work. You can't work properly like this.
Thanks

Re: Overlay Thumbnail dimensions can be erroneous
Of course I totally agree.
Using a smaller font and two lines could solve it, I think. I'll try that. Nope, went for a different solution.
BTW, were you happy with the way it was before the fix?

Re: Overlay Thumbnail dimensions can be erroneous
For PSD files, I personally don't really care what is displayed. The actual (larger) size is probably better than the "wrong" (smaller) thumbnail size.
Thanks for the quick response! Perfect as always.

Re: Overlay Thumbnail dimensions can be erroneous
I am glad I ended up bringing the overlays dimensions issue to your attention, because I wasn't actually going to bother you with it, but the recent customizable properties enhancement for all filetypes that you choose to implement, has made it well worth it.
Thanks.
Thanks.
