Teracopy

Post by jcmn »

Hi

There is a freeware called Teracopy (from Codesector) that can be used as a copy/move file manager.

Can XYPlorer integrate it's use as happens with other file managers?

Not very soon, I'm afraid. Look at the roadmap... time is one-dimensional (probably) ...

I'm another Teracopy user that would love to see this feature in XYplorer.

Cheers,

I agree it would be awesome to see support for TeraCopy, or even better - a XYplorer equivalent.

How does this integration look like?

I just posted this to TC blog:
Coming here based on post in XYplorer user forum (http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?t=2012) where integration with XYplorer was requested. However, based just on notes/comments seen here, it seems that integration may need to be also done from THIS end. Could TeraCopy author work with Don Lessau (XY author) to make this happen? It would/should be to benefit of both app's! I'm not a user of TC but am interested now, while I am a dedicated user of XY.
Because...the release notes for TC say "Added: Directory Opus support" so if that's the case, it may need to be coded a bit from both ends to meet in the middle, if you will...
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

Alternatives
http://www.ipmsg.org/tools/fastcopy.html.en
http://killprog.narod.ru/killcopye.html
http://www.ranvik.net/totalcopy/

Manipulate the right click menu or go to User>Manage Commands... and assign the path and shortcut key. Yeah, extra clicks, but they come in handy when copying lots of files.

The Directory Opus supports seems to consist of using TeraCopy as a custom command, I'm guessing sort of like using UDC in XYplorer.

In that case I have nothing to do, and it should be easy to write a working UDC to integrate TeraCopy. Can any TeraCopy user confirm this?
