Sounds like a good plan on all points. Stating the number of hidden files is more informative, but "All items hidden" is fine as well for those situations.

I think it should behave this way as well.
I want XY to serve soft ice cream. Please Don, make XY serve soft ice cream.

imo "All items hidden" is better. at least i always was taking hidden as "this shouldn't be seen", so stating there are hidden item is already enough instead of even stating how many is hidden(hidden items can be hidden from other people using PC after all).

I see your point. But in XY the number of hidden items has always been visible in the status bar, so there is no secret. The only items that are totally hidden (it's not even shown that they are hidden) are admin-ghosted items (per Admin.ini).

my bad, i misted the moment XY doesn't provide cover for hidden or system items. is there may be a tweak to discard the message in list and keep it only in status bar? 'cause i know most users , unlike us geeks, don't look at status bar that much, only info in direct view is important

I don't get the point. You want to hide that something is hidden ... from another user?

Is it possible, that the "Sorting filenames by base" option be taken into account in the MUSD popup? (And in the hoverbox. This IE sorting is so unnatural to me.)

i'd just wish it wouldn't show it so obvious that there are hidden items, status bar info like [13/15 items] is already enough. if i'd want to be aware, i'd just switch them to be shown = what's the point to hide smt and each time be notified about that?!
considering other users: sometimes i let my laptop be used by other people(many scenarios for "why"), and even Explorer doesn't show there are some hidden items, but XY does.
but oh well, i jusr said that tweak could be good.

I wrote this 2 years ago but drives me mad almost each day. When I am in the actual folder, the file I want to run is at the very beginning. But when I am in the parent folder, and I want to use this awesome MUSD feature, I have to scroll down fully, because my desired file will be at the very end.

sw_name.accdb is the base, always the actual. Then there are a lot of files with the base and additional labels as "local", or "previous" or date or version numbers, compressed or not, derived from the base name. Natural sort keeps the sw_name.accdb at the beginning of the list. MUSD keep it at the end.
(Actually I was wondering that only file names are shown in the folder preview and MUSD. Then it wouldn't be illogical to honor the filename related settings from configuration "Sort".)

Agreed. "Sorting filenames by base" should also be honored in MUSD etc. I'll add that later.
