Live filter > Match anywhere only matches full tag names

Hello there,
I found a feature that maybe incomplete. In configuration, I checked Live filter to match anywhere so I expect a partial indexes will return all matches. Suppose I have a folder with files tagged: tag_picture, tag_music, tag_book. When I do Live filter for:

I expect it returns all files with any tags but it did not. Only returned 1 untagged file

I expect it returns files with text "tag" anywhere in the tag name, but it did not return any.

Correctly returned all files with tag_music.

By the way, from my research, it is not possible to have tags color coded in file names (maybe not painting the whole file name with color (confused with labels), but just the beginning markers of the file names so they can be visually recognized). Please correct me if there is a feature that allows this.

I don't understand what you mean exactly here, if you want to color tagged items you can use the same filter I just mentioned above as a color filter.

So looks like I have to use * before and after to search for tags "anywhere" in tag names. Doesn't feed natural at all but ok hopefully the software will update. Regarding color coded tags, I meant I don't want to have to type in filter syntax or click a button. It would be best to for the files to identify themselves. For example, in a docs folder I have many files assigned with different tags, to identify which group (tag) they belong, the only way is to look at tags column header, but they are "text" after all. It is much faster to identify colored items. Or maybe the tag names in tags column could be color coded too, I don't know

Did you follow that link I provided in the previous post? You only need to setup color filters once, and then the tagged items will be colored automatically without having to click on anything.

Also depending on your requirements, and if you are only applying one tag per item, you could instead use labels which allow you to color the label column only via:

Configuration | Information | Tags | Coloring style

Also to make wildcard tag search easier instead of using the LFB you could define the following script command (or a modification of it) to a keyboard shortcut (or button etc), when run it would popup a dialog asking the tag name to search for and add the wildcards for you automatically (don't include tags: in your input eg. instead of tags:*green* in LFB just enter green in the popup dialog), if you just want it to show ALL tagged items just leave the popup dialog empty, if you are interested you can try it out by pasting it in the address bar while you are in a folder that contains tagged items.

Another way would be (an additional) custom column that returns colored bars, e.g.:

One more suggestion if you are going to be working with tags regularly is to check out the "Find by Tags" toolbar button, also Click and Search via the Catalog
