Really good, I do hope you get lots of interest. May I also suggest it is an opportunity to mention your own special feature(s) that make XY for you such a great program. Maybe feature of the month udate!

This is exactly the way to go to generate more sales - as much recommended and credible promotion from the user base - hopefully more new buyers and more Don specials!

Yes, I decided that it would best to show all the versions...I know it's a fair amount of work, and I unfortunately can not guarantee that I'll be able to maintain it up to date constantly, so I'd like to be able to have a couple of alternate users/ID's who could maintain it also...like Don and Jacky...

And THANKS for the compliments! I think it may also provide an easy method to notify users of updates of changes without having to read the Beta thread here, via RSS and/or email...

Very cool - but can I suggest you use the international date standard for your date formatting? Since XY is used internationally this would be most friendly. It took me a few moments to figure out what the hell those dates were!

Which dates are you referring to? The individual postings use the actual text as shown in History (Which I also find a bit confusing), and the archive headings don't give (as I see it) much of a choice, so I'm somewhat limited there...

I could just have the archive by month instead of week...would that help?
Or is it the headings of posts? (As that needs to match what Don wrote)

Update:I just tweaked the archive date format...is that better or worse?

I have planned a highlight-on-feature-X or feature-of-the-month section on my website since long. The day is short...

Then I tried to outsource that approach by asking users why they bought XY: http://www.xyplorer.com/reviews.htm
And I got some nice answers there.

But a feature-of-the-month with screenshots and a step-by-step manual on how to solve this and that common problem the XYplorer-way... that would be great! Or show some tricks nobody thought were possible. This could run monthly under the heading "The Zen of file management".

I also want to do a Tip-of-the-day ("Did you know...?") since long. Well, well...

Basically, the international date format is YYYY-MM-DD. It has a wonderful logic to it (so Don, you should love it, being German) and it means you can tell both Europeans, Americans and just about everyone else to piss off when they bitch abut it not being in their localised format

Oh, and in case it wasn't mentioned before JC, that is some fantastic work you've done. Keep it up

Ok...I guess I could do some more editing ( ) of the History.txt data before I post it to blog...

It'd be easier IF Don were to do it so I can just cut/paste it as it still takes a fair amount of editing in Blogger to get the TXT formatted somewhat like it was originally...

BTW, I did do the extra step of forcing the blog create dates for each entry to match the date/time of update stamp, and those are in "readable English" format...

Glad you like it! I spend about 8 hrs last nite working on it...was up until 5:30am as got so involved, I didn't stop at my normal 4am bedtime..

Wow. Wow. Wow. I'm using YYYY-MM-DD everywhere ever since, in XY's source code comments, in my file system in dated folder and file names, in my Date columns. The only place I do not use it is my DateTime macro (Alt+1 -> one of my most pressed key combos!) in UltraEdit. I've written that macro maybe 10 years ago and never changed it. I don't know why. Partial date format blindness or so. And, of course, I use UltraEdit to write the XY history.

I just changed the macro - a work of 5 seconds.
I will write a short routine to convert the whole History.txt. I'll let you all know when done...

Well, it took me a lot longer to manually edit all 19 blog posts to match this new YYYY-MM-DD format, but I just finished it! Hope you're happy, luke!

But..the date ranges on weekly archives are still in DD/MM/YY format and I don't see a way to change that...still will look a bit more though..
Update: Just changed it to XXX 99 - XXX 99 format...I like that better...ala "Aug 5 - Aug 12"
