More WOW64 questions

Hey all. Bit of a niche question here, and any guidance would be much appreciated!

I'm wanting to replace MultiCommander with XYplorer in all my WinPE images, both 32-bit and 64-bit. The only thing holding me back is WOW64 redirection of exes such as system32\regedit.exe. Basically, WinPE doesn't have WOW64 at stock, so can't run XYplorer at all. I've added a very basic WOW64 subsystem needed to run third-party apps (including XYplorer). When trying to add a .reg file, for example, it attempts to use the regedit at syswow64\regedit.exe. Regedit and its dependencies are only present in system32 in this image, so nothing can be done with .reg files in this circumstance. Same for mmc.exe, cscript, wscript, etc.

So my question: Is there any way to selectively disable redirection of EXE files in system32? It seems like the only workaround would be to add those files and their file/registry dependencies to syswow64, which wouldn't be an easy task!

sorry for the late reply!

There is a tweak to disable WOW64 redirection on 64-bit platforms. It's NOT really recommended to use it unless you really know what you are doing.
