How to open SharePoint Document Repository in Explorer View

Post by gdarino »

How do I get XYplorer to open a SharePoint Document Repository in Explorer View?

If Xyploers is set as the default file manager and I select SharePoint Document Library option to "Open with Explorer" then Xyplorer fails to open the remote share. The tab where the content would normally display is replaced with the following message:
XYplorer Message.png
I suspect the Authentication Pop-up Window is being suppressed but I don't know how to fix this. Has anyone ran into this and knows the fix?

Welcome to the forum.

Do you have Menu - Tools - Configuration... General - Controls and More - Network - [ ] Assume that servers are available

ticked?

I think this shouldn't happen in general?
(Though your tip might help for circumvention.)

If he uses that setting how else should XY behave? If no user/password prompt comes up (because it's suppressed) it doesn't know if the resource is accessible?

If it's not accessible, ignore it (after a timeout)?

I don't expect XY (or any other program) not to be unstartable at all in such a situation. Instead it should be handled "in some way", I think. Everything is better than not to start.

The Xyplorer message is a bit misleading. Xyplorer itself did not actually close. The TAB shows the message instead of the content.

The setting in question is NOT being used. I confirmed that the user/password prompt IS being suppressed even though the option that would normally suppress it is NOT being used.

Does the suppression also happens when you start XYplorer with a fresh instance?
I want to rule out any set tweaks...

Code: Select all

::fresh; {ENTER}
in the address bar
