Extremely slow context menu

Post by AustinBrister »

The 32 bit and the 64 bit context menus are extremely slow in Xyplorer. But the context menu is instant in Windows Explorer.

I tried the following with no luck at all:
  • enabled "Hide shell extensions from shell context menu"
  • disabled "Custom items in shell context menu"
  • enabled "Show the 64-bit context menu"
All to no avail. Also, the more files I have selected, the longer it takes to load.

Any tips would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.

First: Disable "Show the 64-bit context menu"

1. XY version number?
2. Does it happen on a fresh instance, too?
Type:
::fresh; {ENTER}
in the address bar (ofc {ENTER} means: press the enter / return key)
3. If it happens in a fresh instance as well:

Get the 64-bit version, extract it, start it

Menu - Options
[x] Show 32-bit Shell Extensions
[x] Hide all Microsoft Extensions

DISABLE ALL VISIBLE ONES
Restart XY, try the context menu again

Happens in a fresh instance as well.

Tried disabling all. Issue is still prevalent.

Never seen that behavior before...

What happens when you disable all Microsoft ones as well?

It won't let me disable them. It says shell extensions are required for the computer to properly boot.

Ok.

Apart from trying a few older versions from https://www.xyplorer.com/freezer/
... No idea what's happening on your computer :/
