Re: Color change help
There's no need to edit clrLineNumBack manually. It's where the line column BG color is saved.

Re: Color change help
When it does. Remember the days we had an issue with this and afaicr it wasn`t related to the 0x1 problem?SammaySarkar wrote:There's no need to edit clrLineNumBack manually. It's where the line column BG color is saved.

Hm, turns the BG pitch black, making it stick out differently than before, but not in any way more pleasing to the eye. Still terribly distracting.SkyFrontier wrote:try to use 1 instead of 0 for the value. 0 keeps reseting.
Interpreting Don's "Yep" literally, I think there simply is no tweak for this. It's probably by design. But why? Why do I need the very first column to jump at me like that? It's the first column anyway, cannot be moved anywhere else, no need to spot it among the rest. It's sticking out anyway, by position and obvious content.
Sure I could just use the same colors for active and inactive. But that distinction is something I actually DO need to be obvious and sticking out. So back again to doing without line numbers. The only thing I am missing out are easy multi-selections, or so I hope?

"Interpreting Don's "Yep" literally, I think there simply is no tweak for this" - that's right. You can make a wish.
Personally I don't use high-contrasting active/inactive pane colors, so your problem in not my problem.
But I see how it can be annoying.

Re: Color change help
Will follow your advice and add to the wish list.
It's been bothering me right from the start - but never enough to actually miss that column. Other than multi-select-clicking, do you know of other features I forego by not having that column?
Maybe there are alternatives? Objective = making it plain obvious when I glance over to my left monitor where the action takes place. Does not need to be high-contrasting but - let's call it - easily discernible from the corner of my eye, without having to shift my attention to telltale signs in the breadcrumb bar or other "small" areas on a very hi-res screen.SammaySarkar wrote:Personally I don't use high-contrasting active/inactive pane colors, so your problem in not my problem.![]()

Re: Color change help
well, the index column header is a quick way to the sort submenu. Other than that, it's expendable.Stef123 wrote:Other than multi-select-clicking, do you know of other features I forego by not having that column?

I dbl-click the index column header about 1000 times a day to trigger View | Columns | Autosize Columns Now.SammaySarkar wrote:well, the index column header is a quick way to the sort submenu. Re: Color change help
Thanks. 2 good reasons, makes a total of 3 to show that column. Now I regret even more that this column doesn't fit in, color-wiseadmin wrote:I dbl-click the index column header about 1000 times a day to trigger View | Columns | Autosize Columns Now.SammaySarkar wrote:well, the index column header is a quick way to the sort submenu. The dbl-clik is slick indeed. Easier than aiming at the col-divider and dbl-clicking there. Or letting go of the mouse to press Ctrl Num Plus.
