Enumerate file servers holding up use of XY, how to turn off
Enumerate file servers holding up use of XY, how to turn off
Enumerating servers : how to disable ?
I couldn't use the XY for 1 minute or so
because it was doing this.
I searched on forum and in help, couldn't figure how to turn off

Does checking Configuration | Advanced | Assume that servers are available help?

Re: Enumerate file servers holding up use of XY, how to turn
I have this problem as well. The "Assume that servers are available" setting does not make any difference.
I'd really like to be able to prevent XYplorer from ever going through the time-consuming "Enumerating network servers" phase, during which it is completely unresponsive. It does this when, for example, I go to drag and drop a file from XYplorer to another window, and the mouse cursor happens to pass over a network share in the Catalog. This grinds my work to a halt for up to a minute.

Try Configuration | Startup & Exit | Cache network servers.

Incidently, this very issue is why I had to stop using xplorer2 a few years back....

Thank you, thank you, thank you! This setting seems to have done the trick. Not sure how I missed it before.

Re: Enumerate file servers holding up use of XY, how to turn
I had already had "No network browsing on startup" enabled. Enabling "Cache network servers" is what solved the problem for me.

Re: Enumerate file servers holding up use of XY, how to turn
I just ran into this again because I was using a fresh copy of XY on a new machine, luckily Google found this for me quickly.
Shouldn't this be on by default?

There are not so many complaints.

Re: Enumerate file servers holding up use of XY, how to turn
I have run into this issue quite often for a long time. Thanks for the workaround!
Re: Enumerate file servers holding up use of XY, how to turn
I am unable to see the "Cache Network Servers" option, even when using "Jump to setting" and selecting OK (I can see it in the Jump to setting, but there is no such setting visible).
It does not show up after selecting okay. The only 2 options I see under Network are:
1) Assume that servers are available
2) Pre-check availability of servers
I am also unable to continue use of XYplorer (and it's great functionality) because of the constant delay (10-15 seconds), as I always have at least 1 network drive open.

Re: Enumerate file servers holding up use of XY, how to turn off
I know this is an old post but I had this problem start recently and thought it what caused it may be of help to someone else with the same issue.
Using Help menu / Ctrl+Shift "Various Information" showed Enumerating Network Servers was taking 30+ seconds.
I then realised this had started happening after I created some shared folders on my network.
Checking "Cache network servers" fixed the problem.
