Won't help nor hinder. The pane and tabbar have two separate borders, and their positions don't match.
(edit-add: Well, they do match up if the leftmost tab is active.)

There was some discussion between Marco and I about it and Don decided we were picking nits and held fast that it was fine even after Marco better illustrated the hierarchy.

EDIT: In other words, the count of fools whom dislike the disconnect caused by a border-less breadcrumb bar has grown to 4.
