What's selected in the list after operations
Hi. Using version 27.00.0800 Pro. It seems that what gets selected in the file/folder "details" list after certain common operations is different from the way it worked in the past: When I move "up" a folder in the hierarchy (I often use Alt+Up Arrow), the folder I just left ofte...

Re: Prevent a tab from changing directory
Actually, I just discovered that you also have to uncheck one or more other settings for it to work like that. I had indeed set the tab to Lock Location , but also to Default and Home and in that combination Lock Location didn't work as expected. Unsetting the other things and leaving only Lock Loca...

Prevent a tab from changing directory
Hello! Is there a way to make a pinned (or locked?) tab never change directory? Then, if a folder is double-clicked in that tab, that folder always opens in a new tab (or existing tab if that folder was already open in another tab)? If there's no way to do that, may I request it? (Would LOVE that fe...

Re: Favorites pane (screen area) disappeared
Yes, that's it. Thank you! I need to learn to stop calling it a pane or area and start calling it the catalog.
By the way, can one have multiple catalogs showing at the same time?

Favorites pane (screen area) disappeared
Happily using XY for years. Always had an area in the left column, under the tree, where favorites show -- but now it's gone and I can't find a way to get it back. (It was area that you drag anything to/from, to add/remove a favorite.)
What am I missing?
Thank you.

Re: Folder icons show then disappear
Are you 100% sure that by only overwriting the [Settings] section in a _fresh_ XYplorer.ini with the complete section from your old config (and leaving out all other sections) does produce that behavior? It's hard to believe that you experience it while changing all settings in that section back to...

Using 16.80.highend wrote:Depends on the version. v16.70.0001 or higher? It should work. Mine is set to 256.
Both misbehaviors (the crash and the disappearing icons) are perhaps caused not by one setting but by some combination of settings?

Re: Folder icons show then disappear
Hi again, I've attached an image of a Word table that shows all the differences between the [Settings] sections in a "fresh" setup versus my setup. (The fresh one has been slightly customized but still shows all the icons as expected.) Does this help at all? Likewise, does the fact that th...

Re: Folder icons show then disappear
Does the fact that the icons show up at first (upon opening that folder), but then quickly get removed in sequence, top to bottom of the list, tell you anything?

Re: Folder icons show then disappear
For sure it wasn't the windows update itself. You didn't reboot since this discussion began (and after deleting the windows icon cache file)? Actually, I had rebooted earlier as well. There is a new development: the missing icon issue is back. :( The same files' and folders' icons as before are mis...

Re: Way to times-tamp file's arrival in folder
As Sammay pointed out, not possible with XY atm. An external tool could easily poll the list contents once a second, compare last and current one and tag these files (so the custom column could be used). Possible? Sure. Is it worth it? Depends... Yeah, probably not worth the effort until those even...

Re: Way to times-tamp file's arrival in folder
That would require XYplorer to expose events it listens for to scripts. (sidenote: Vote for Custom Event Actions!!!) Unfortunately that's not possible yet (unless some XYwiz overthrows my pessimism) without some external tool. That makes sense. Can I actually vote for that? If so, I will/do! Thank ...
