Prevent a tab from changing directory

Post by ardee »

Hello! Is there a way to make a pinned (or locked?) tab never change directory? Then, if a folder is double-clicked in that tab, that folder always opens in a new tab (or existing tab if that folder was already open in another tab)?

If there's no way to do that, may I request it?

(Would LOVE that feature plus having it always go to an already-open tab, if it exists, rather than changing directory in current tab, when double-clicking a folder in any tab.)

That's exactly what happens when you lock the tab?

Actually, I just discovered that you also have to uncheck one or more other settings for it to work like that. I had indeed set the tab to Lock Location, but also to Default and Home and in that combination Lock Location didn't work as expected. Unsetting the other things and leaving only Lock Location set now works as expected. The other behavior I wanted was achieved by changing the TabReuseTabs setting in the INI file from 0 to 1. All set now!

Thank you!

Not by hand I guess?
It's a normal gui setting
Configuration | Tabs and Panes | Tabs | [x] Reuse existing tabs when changing the location
