Viewing devices such as MP3 players with XYPlorer

Is it possible to view external USB devices such as my Sandisk Fuze+ in the XYPlorer drive list? The device does not appear as a drive letter in Explorer, but instead appears as a separate icon called Sansa Fuze+.

Thank you folks!

Re: Cannot view most files in 'Windows/System32/drivers'

I just found a previous thread which directs me to the WOW64 settings.....think this problem might be solved. This is, indeed, a 64 bit system that I am working on.

Cannot view most files in 'Windows/System32/drivers'

I am using XYPlorer portable on a Win 7 machine, and I cannot view most of the files in the 'Windows/System32/drivers' folder. I have both XYPlorer and Windows set to show hidden files and folders and system files. The really strange thing is, I can see the files in that folder if I use Windows Expl...

Re: Text and Background color for Open Tab text and Backgrou

I thought that I should add that I am using the portable version, just in case the code for the 2 versions is different.

Text and Background color for Open Tab text and Background

Hello XYPlorer folks, I am trying to change XYPlorer so that it makes the current tab that I am working with a different color and has a different text color so that it is easy to differentiate it. I go to Tools | Configuration | Colors & Styles and change the values (in the upper right of the f...

Re: Select cursor position when renaming files

Could you make it so that if you hit the left arrow key, the cursor will be placed at the beginning of the filename instead of at the end? The right arrow key would do the same as it does now. The Home key does this already, doesn't it? I didnt know that the Home key works like it does. Yes, that i...

Select cursor position when renaming files

I think that this would be a really good addition to XYPlorer..... Now, when you hold-click on a filename, the name is highlighted so that you can rename it. If you hit either the right or left arrow key, the cursor is placed at the end of the filename so that you can presumably add to the end of th...

Re: large pause when opening a folder with 'Sort folders apart'

There are a total of 995 items in the folder......351 of them are folders. It is not a huge pause, and I figure that it is just a result of the number of items that I have in the parent folder.

large pause when opening a folder with 'Sort folders apart'

Whenever I open a rather full folder that has a mix of files and sub-folders, there is a pretty long pause as, I suppose, the program sorts the folders to the top of the list. I dont know if this should be considered a bug or just the fact that I have too darned many files/folders. What do you think...

problem with 'New Version' dialog box

Hello, This is a rather strange problem that occurs when the pop-up dialog box appears to tell me that a new version is available. Often, when I click on the OK button (I think that is right....I am reporting this from memory....) the dialog box does not go away, and the link does not open in my bro...

Multi-file rename

Hello, This is a feature that I saw in another file explorer app (I cannot remember which one right now) that I really liked a lot, and I was wondering if it could be implemented in XYPlorer. When I click in a tab to rename a file, I can rename the file normally, then, if I use the up or down arrow ...

Add drive info tool tip to tree display

I dont know if this has been implemented yet or not.....I looked through the options, but couldnt find it...... When I hover over a drive in the tree display, it would be nice to see the total drive space and the free drive space for that drive. (maybe even other information??? dont know what, thoug...

Re: Occasional lag when opening a folder

I will experiment with that and post back my results. As for the first question, it seems to be OK when I go back into the folder, so I think I am getting your drift.....it primarily happens on first time visits to folders with many exe files? Interesting........
