Can someone please help me on this task?
I'd like to have the option to select top "X" items, being preserved the list order those files currently have - sorted by name, created or modified date, or size.
-Such script could also ask user for a number of groups to sort the files on, and auto-move/copy/backup to folders having different names/paths entered by user or optionally (tick box) create numbered names having a base name to work with.
-Other option could be the ability to tell the script how many files (maximum) will go into each group, having a tick box to ask for a fixed distribution (333 files will split in 111 files x 3 folders) or a floating distribution (max 50 files per folder, so 50 files x 6 folders + 33 files).
Thank you!

Stefan,
Toke a little 10 minutes to test and get the hang out of it. May not automate the whole process, yet able to accomplish the worst part of it - and yes, CAN do more than what I intended. Thanks for the heads up!
