hi ! ever since this version :
v27.20.1108 - 2026-03-16 20:20
! Drag and Drop: Did not work from VS Code (and probably other similar apps). Fixed.
i am no longer able to drag out of a 7zip file and drop into XY. doing so, each time, gives me this error report:
Custom Move from 3/24/2026 6:32:20 AM

To: D:\Downloads\
Files processed: 1 (0 new, 0 over, 0 skip, 1 fail)
Bytes moved: 0 bytes (intra-volume move)
Transfer rate: 17 files/sec
Remarks: Custom Move completed in 59.0 ms

Processed files:
FAIL (move intra vol) New D:\Temp\Temp\7zE0EE6DB21\WOOD Magazine.pdf -> D:\Downloads\WOOD Magazine.pdf | The system cannot find the path specified.
if i roll back to any version prior to this change, the drag drop works as it used to. the TEMP location is correct, confirmed the path and with SET:
TEMP=D:\Temp\Temp
TMP=D:\Temp\Temp
Unable to Drag/Drop from 7z

Re: Unable to Drag/Drop from 7z
Cannot reproduce. Tried on Win8 and Win11, with an old and a new 7zip, no problems.

Re: Unable to Drag/Drop from 7z
Don, I don't know if it worked in earlier versions or not, but I can repro with just this setting disabled in fresh:
Configuration | File Operations | File Operations | Custom Copy Operations | [ ] No progress dialog on intra-volume moves
but it also has to be a 7z/zip, using rar seems to extract without error then the file disappears.

Re: Unable to Drag/Drop from 7z
I too am seeing this problem, or at least something similar.
Firstly, I note what when dragging files from 7zip (v26.00) I can see a folder being created and then removed (in my temp folder).
After dragging a file into Pane 1 the dragged file ends up in the target folder.
After dragging a file into Pane 2 the dragged file but the does not make it into the target folder. I don't know if it just doesn't get out of 7zip or it is going somewhere else.
