:info: Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Huge tag file delays 64-bit XYplorer (but not 32-bit XYplorer).

Post by thecon »

Latest XYplorer versions tested (27.20.1000 32-bit, 28.20.0300 64-bit) on Windows 11, 100% screen scaling.

I had been using 32-bit XYplorer for quite some time using a quite big (100,000 files) tagfile. In xyplorer.ini:
...
TagDatCustom=O:\SomeFolder\SomeFileTag.dat
...

All tagged files are in SSD (as is the tagfile).

When I upgraded to 64-bit XYplorer, I noticed a considerable delay in opening XYplorer. (32-bit took one second, 64-bit takes 15!).
When I removed the tagfile from the ini, 64-bit xyplorer loaded very fast, so the tagfile is probably the culprit.

But why in 32-bit it doesn't cause any delay in opening XYplorer, whereas in 64-bit xyplorer it causes soooo much delay?

TwinBasic hasn't even reached v1.0 stable so probably this falls under the "not very optimized atm" category...
