Hey - I've noticed this bug for quite a while but only now it has become more annoying. Basically when I'm inside any subfolder of AppData and I hit the Up button (BKSP) XYplorer will temporarily show the entire contents of the Users\<user> folder.
Steps to reproduce:
1. go for example inside the folder C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Roaming\XYplorer64\
2. enter any subfolder like "Scripts"
3. hit Up (backspace) and you'll see a quick flash of the entire user folder's contents
NOTE: this doesn't happen if I click on the breadcrumb bar or the back/forward buttons, it's ONLY with UP/BACKSPACE functionality
And this happens for any subfolder inside the AppData folder, not just XYplorer's folder. It's been driving me crazy, and I bet it has something to do with the fact that AppData is a hidden folder.
(watch the folder listing closely, you'll see the quick listing flash)
P.S. Windows 10-64bit @ 100%, XY 28.20.0200 (though it's been happening for many months or more)

Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).
We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

And it does happen with a fresh instance as well?

Hmm, it doesn't - but at least I figured out the source of the bug: it happens only when the "Show Hidden Items" is OFF, so when hidden files are hidden flashing happens, but when hidden files are visible it doesn't happen. Either way, I still think it's a bug since flashing like that isn't normal.

I can replicate that flashing with "Show Hidden Items" = off.
Don't know if it really shows the user data folder then, too fast to be able to see any dir content while the flash happens

Re: XYplorer temporarily showing the user folder's contents when going back/upward (happens only within AppData)
My user folder has many hidden folders, that's why the flashes can easily be seen even in the attached gif.
This has become a problem for me in particular because I do a lot of changes inside XYplorer's "NewItems" folder where I have many subfolders, and going from one subfolder to another gets really annoying to the eye, almost feels slow and sluggish to browse.
