Unconditional thumbnail recreation with "Refresh"

Post by Borut »

Thumbnails view of a folder with images. I losslessly rotate images in the same (=current) folder using another application. The setting in that other application is: Do not change time stamps.

XY can not register any change, due to unchanging timestamps. That is as expected. But, if I use "Refresh", or "Refresh list", than I actually need and expect the unconditional recreation of thumbnails, which apparently does not happen.

"Cache thumbnails on disk" is NOT checked. "Create all thumbnails at once" is NOT checked.

Thanks!

This cmd is available already:

View | Caches | Refresh Thumbnails

even when not cached to disk, they are cached in memory.

Thanks jupe! 🙏 Yup, that, combined with a keyboard shortcut, enables me to do what I want.

Nevertheless, maybe it might be considered that, under the scenario described, it is actually expected (at least I did) that a list refresh implicitly does also the thumbnails refresh.
