:info: Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Missing icon for shortcut to UNC target

Post by gwm »

I have read a couple of bug reports about missing icons, but none appears to be exactly the same problem. When I create shortcuts to UNC paths, the icon does not appear in XYplorer, though it does in Windows Explorer. This happens on 27.20.0000 (32 bit) and 28.00.0007 (64 bit). The correct icon is shown in the properties window and the "Change icon" window. The icon file itself is in a local directory. Strangely, if I change the target from \\GMNAS\Data to \\GMNAS/Data, the icon appears and XYplorer follows the shortcut; Windows Explorer shows the icon, but will not follow the shortcut.

Strange indeed, but I cannot reproduce it. Did you try a Windows reboot?

Ugh. My fault--sorry. I had setting "Use generic icons for super-fast browsing" selected.
