4K .mov playback crash

Post by bossi »

compressed 4K .mp4 and .ts files play fine within Preview Pane .
uncompressed 4K .mov ( high bitrate ) , cause an insta-crash , when Preview Pane tries playing them.
tested on newest vanilla XYx64.

PS.: is Video Playback only possible via Preview Pane ? the Floating Preview shows only Thumbnail of the Video , correct?

1) Do you have a link to one of them?

2) It's possible via WMP. Currently no time to check how to force MOV to be previewed by WMP but there should be a way.

Okay. Without a way to see the crash here I can't do anything.

seems a rather rare format mostly used in professional video editing .
WMP as preview handler plays it fine , though i prefer the native XY player.
I have K-Lite installed.

here is a sample file of such a ProRes format if you want to try and make it playable , id cerainly be grateful
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Dyvp7f ... sp=sharing

currently it just crashes the app if played with native Preview Handler

Tried it, no problems. Plays fine with XY's native viewer in 32-bit and 64-bit. AFAIK I just use K-Lite as well.

When I play it, LAV stuff is loaded in the background, hidden in systray (the two windows below are shown when clicking the icons).
